“Until
now,
many
Spanish-speaking
homeowners
were
somewhat
apprehensive
about
programming
English-language
thermostats,
afraid
they
may
accidentally
make
a
change
that
would
result
in
overly
high
energy
bills
or
cause
damage
to
their
system,”
said
Jay
Wirts,
director
of
marketing,
Emerson
Climate
Technologies,
White-Rodgers
division.
“With
the
Blue
Selecto
thermostats,
we
are
providing
contractors
with
a
solution
that
addresses
the
distinct
needs
and
concerns
of
their
Hispanic
customers.
They
can
now
have
the
confidence
to
operate
a
programmable
thermostat
in a
language
they
understand
while
maintaining
comfort
in
the
home
and
saving
money
on
energy
bills.”
The
easy
to
install
Blue
Selecto
thermostat
line
includes
three
models,
each
featuring
a
Spanish
language
display
and
Spanish
programming.
To
accompany
the
new
thermostats,
Emerson
is
also
implementing
a
Spanish-speaking
homeowner
helpline
(1.877.978.7828)
for
homeowners
with
questions
as
well
as a
Spanish
language
NATE
certification
training
module
for
contractors.
The
Emerson
Blue
Selecto
thermostats
have
four-square-inch
Blue
displays,
allowing
for
easy
navigation,
and
they
include
pre-programmed
software
for
simplified
time
and
temperature
programming,
giving
the
homeowner
confidence
that
they
will
be
achieving
their
desired
level
of
comfort
and
energy
efficiency.
The
ENERGY-STAR-approved
Blue
Selecto
thermostats
also
maintain
room
temperature
differential
within
one
degree
Fahrenheit
and
have
multiple
programming
choices
to
maximize
efficiency
during
the
week
and
on
weekends.
They
offer
a
potential
energy
savings
of
up
to
33
percent,
