Emerson Introduces Online University
Emerson Climate
Technologies has recently launched a web-based repository of technical
topics related to the HVAC industry.
Emerson Climate Technologies Online University
offers a practical selection of
courses on topics related to air-conditioning, refrigeration and
controls.
Mark Dunson,
vice president and
general manager of air conditioning sales and marketing for Emerson
Climate Technologies Asia,
commented, “We are very pleased to launch this web-based online learning
repository. During our interactions with technical people in the HVAC
industry around the globe, we have felt the need to have a knowledge
resource that is both practical and theoretical. Practicing engineers
and students alike need access to technical information, both basic and
advanced, and this tool has been created to address this need. To make
the courses interesting, graphics and animation have been added.”
Courses are available free of charge to anyone who registers,
and are currently offered in both English and Chinese. Registered users
can learn at their own pace and will be able to choose from a wide
variety of topics.
Four course modules are currently available: Basics
of Refrigeration, Comfort Air-Conditioning, Refrigeration, and System
Protection. Each module contains 4 to 8 technical courses, some of
which are broken down further into learning modules. E-certificates will be given to those who have finished any of the courses, and a printed Certificate of Completion will be given
to those who finish all four modules.
Emerson Climate Technologies Online University
was showcased during the India refrigeration show (ACREX) in Bangalore
and the China Refrigeration show in Shanghai. At both shows, it
attracted significant interest from the technical community. The
organizers of ACREX acknowledged this remarkable contribution to the
industry and awarded Emerson Climate Technologies Online University with
the title of “Most Innovative Product.”
